Availability of Information
Do you have easy access to the information you need to execute quality improvement programs?
In most cases, the quality team needs to request information from the IT teams to get what they need to monitor progress? This is generally not a high priority for IT, and creates friction and delays in getting the data required to make changes and improvements.
Alarm Committee
Do you have an alarm committee? How do they get the data they need?
Since the Joint Commission recommendations came about in 2013, hospitals have created cross-functional teams to identify the best way to improve the alarm environment by sharing informatin between functions. CareSight offers representation, guidance, and data to arm the Alarm Committee for success.
Nursing Morale
Do you know how many total alarms, alerts, and notifications are experienced by your nursing teams per shift?
Getting the total number for all interruptions isn't easy, unless the IT team is extremely cooperative, and know the data structures for each individual alarming technology. CareSight aggregates this information and makes it easy to identify trends, or pinpoint where individuals may be overloaded with notifications.
Response Times
How do you currently track response times? Can you identify trends or problem areas?
Having data from all sources, and being able to track individual average response times helps management to correct individual issues, balance staffing as needed, or reward high-performing staff.
